The Issuing Platform is the infrastructure that makes card products work: payments authorized, limits enforced, compliance checks run, across 70-plus countries. I joined to lead the engineering team building this, which was already running at significant scale and growing fast.

The technical challenge is immense: The team helps build and maintain services that serve high throughputs, require low latencies and most importantly, need to ensure a strong degree of correctness.

The business has more than doubled transaction volume year-on-year while growing gross profit 77% and keeping uptime above 99.99%.

I joined as a team lead on the Messaging product, working on the part of the business that helped companies talk to their customers across chat, email, and social in a single unified interface. Over six years I grew the team from a handful of engineers to 40-plus across six squads, and saw the product go from an emerging channel to a meaningful part of the revenue line.

The arc of that tenure shifted from delivery-focused leadership early on to org design and cross-functional strategy as the team scaled. Later I took on the site leader role for Zendesk's new R&D hub in Pune, a different kind of challenge, more about operating rhythm, culture, and making sure 35 teams felt connected to each other and to the company.

Autodesk is where it all started. Getting to expose myself to the rigors of software development at a well-drilled organization like Autodesk helped me establish fairly strong software design fundamentals and the mechanics of working in distributed teams. Eight years, beginning with AutoCAD on desktop and then AutoCAD 360, the mobile and web version, at a time when getting a complex 3D drawing to render correctly on a phone was genuinely hard. I also led work on the Identity platform toward the end of my tenure, handling around 60,000 requests per minute, infrastructure where getting it wrong has real consequences.

Advisory

Early-stage companies

I occasionally work with early-stage founders and engineering leaders on an informal basis, mostly around team structure, technical direction, and scaling decisions. A recurring theme is AI strategy: helping teams figure out where to use it, where not to, and how to build for a world where the tooling changes faster than the org chart does.
